What Color Goes With Red On Walls

fuss ASSORTED ^ _ ^ Mac

                                                          (Kiss, 1859, Francis Heyez)

I'm not a fan of bitter feast of St. Valentine, but it is still very much felt a recurrence and therefore seem fair (and nice) to make my own tribute to all the hearts in love.

may seem obvious, but I would like to dedicate this post to all lovers of old and new packages, to romantic love and the family loves, the friendships that keep us company along the path life.

I am convinced that love variously is also intended sacrifice, and I would like to recall the story of Saint Valentine, the patron of this sweet day; D

's beautiful and it goes something like this .. .

"
Legend has it that Valentine's Day, national bishop of Terni and the year 197, was the the first religious to celebrate the union between a legionnaire and a young Christian. You tell two different endings. According a first version, when the Emperor Aurelian ordered the persecution of Christians, St. Valentine was imprisoned and whipped along the Via Flaminia from the city for fear of retaliation by the faithful. According to another version, however, in 270 AD The Bishop Valentine was called by the Emperor Claudius II who tried to convince him to convert back to paganism. Valentine's Day, with dignity, he refused to renounce his faith and tried in turn (rather naively) to convert to Christianity Claudius II. On February 14 the year 270 AD (or perhaps 273), Valentine was stoned and then beheaded, it seems perhaps the Coliseum.

(summary based on my various docs to be retrieved from publications and from the network)

To tell the truth, then, metaphorically, I found a story peeeeelo more prosaic, but equally interesting; D

The celebration of the bishop and martyr Valentine is linked celebrations of the ancient Greeks, Romans and Italians who held the February 15 in honor of the god bread, the Faun and Lupercus. These celebrations were related to the fields of purification and fertility rites. Become too licentious and ravines, were prohibited by Augustus and then suppressed by Gelasius in 494. The Church Christianized pagan fertility rite that anticipating a day on February 14 giving the martyr ternano the ability to protect their boyfriends and lovers

A curiosity
Once I went to take a short vacation in a beautiful region, the Marches, and in particular (but not only) in the beautiful and famous area of \u200b\u200bMontefeltro.

On that occasion, as the last stage of a giringiro car (in motion must be absolutely Space, D) we stopped to Sassocorvaro.

Here, here in Sassocorvaro, in addition to a small rock shaped like a turtle (I mean really, eh, and has the legs, head and all the rest ^ _ ^), there is also the church Valentine's Day, where important relics are preserved of our saint.
Sometimes this surprises Italy spectacular:)

This is the website, you never know maybe:)

Happy Valentine's Day to all!
