Dear you up to date on the activities of the project "Pè No Chão" 30 October 2009.

1) Fellows favelados S. Paul.
On September 26, 2009 meeting was held as usual when our project coordinators in Brazil (Anna and Sister Jacqueline in particular) check the progress of the courses (as well as the costs and reimbursements to participants). The meeting was attended by students Vanuza, Francisco, Edson, Izaac, Jurandir, Juliana, Jaelson, Nathaly. Jessica was absent, it is confirmed that she is pregnant and Sister Jacqueline got from the mother's commitment to continue the studies because it is very good and it is important that you complete the training course (tourism) very useful in acquiring a job.
reproduce below an excerpt of the reports of the meeting written by Anna.
This meeting was very nice to see the joy of Vanuza and Juliana as they recounted their presentation. Both have completed their thesis, developed in the group and said it was a great challenge. They finished a week before the presentation and then spent all day doing tests on each part. But at the same time had to know all the work because the examiners and the public would could ask questions. On the day of presentation of the thesis were both very nervous. Vanuza and his team were the first to submit work. It was exciting to see his eyes shining with happiness in telling all the time. The night before the big day she and her colleagues teams have stayed in the house, got up early, have breakfast, you are prepared, all smart and then staged the presentation. They were very confident, yet nervous. The power point presentation was excellent and everyone applauded. He said there are no words to describe what they have tried and they were all once again. They made sure all the poise, clothing, the loud, the words they used, all according to the teachings of these 9 months of the course.
Even Juliana told her presentation, she was very nervous because a colleague of his group was excited, he could not remember anything and Juliana had to tell even his party. Luckily he had prepared, but this has unbalanced the group that has become a bit 'nervous. Trembled violently, breathed deeply. He said that in the end, when he finished his part and they all applauded, it was like when a baby is born.
Both have received an individual assessment and one for the group. But the teachers have not yet announced the results.
Jurandir attended the two presentations and said that it was very interesting, especially to prepare for his moment.
Francisco started the internship. He attended the course in the morning and afternoon, from 14 to 20 is an internship in a company that produces equipment for laboratories and workshops. He made two internship interviews, one with the school and then with a firm that employs them. It 's very happy, he likes and what he wants to do. Receives a minimum salary and reimbursement of transport. The other boys and girls will have their presentation in mid-November and December.
On 20 December there will be the official ceremony of the proclamation of the results vocational courses (the "forming") with a Mass and graduation.

2) Awareness raising activities in Bracciano
The information activities and awareness-raising continues through renewed contacts with the local media (newspapers and websites) and with public and private that are showing interest in supporting the project. The site of the City was added to the link of our project and will soon be in other sites. It also provides constantly updated to keep our blog: www.penochaoromano.blogspot.com. The "post" of the blog collect all periodic reports on project activities carried out in Sao Paulo and Bracknell, the side-bar I put the photo of our major initiatives: First Day Interculture Bracciano, conference dr. J. Kanu Institute L. Pacioli Bracciano, paulistani fellows funded by the project, the students of the L. Pacioli participating in the project, the inauguration of the project, all the panels of the exhibition "Pè no chao", the areas involved in the project, the list of major activities, logos and links of the main partners of the project.
I would be very grateful if continuaste to send me suggestions (NB: I apologize if I had to put a filter on the comments on posts to avoid comments that are published out of place as already happened).

3) Initiatives for 2009-2010
have started contacts with "actors", "promoters" and the new "supporters" of the project to agree on actions to be carried out during the school year 2009-2010 (the Brazilian instead runs from January to December with the winter break in July). The basic proposal is to conduct activities similar to those of last year: exhibitions with photos of San Paolo and graphics of the works of students of the L. Pacioli be exhibited for Christmas and Lent in the school premises and in public spaces, lectures on the economy (on which students develop panels for the show), events designed to spread the "Message" of the project and raising funds for scholarships to offer students paulistani, but I ask everyone to put forward any proposals. Thanks.
