Haircuts For Black Women

of July 13, 2009

In the regular meetings of May 30 and June 27 paulistani fellows have made the point, with local leaders of our project, the first six months of professional training courses: "... we have found that all Scholars have improved. At first they were quiet, shy, afraid of not making it, scared of the amount of work. Now I am more calm, confident, optimistic and know how to manage their time. It 'clear that it will not be so easy, but they will not give up ...."

On 27 June we presented our project in a gazebo in the First Day Interculture Bracciano. They were two days on 26 and 27 June, the banner of integration and between cultures. The Feast Interculture "was organized by the City Look for migration policies with the Supported by the Social Policy and the sponsorship of the Natural Park of Bracciano-Martignano.

In the side-bar I've included pictures taken by Stella L. During the two recent events: the meeting between the students dell'IGEA-Luca Pacioli with dr. J. Kanu and "intercultural festival."

We thank those who gave and who will give suggestions for improving this blog.

Dear you up to date on the activities of the project "Pè No Chão" to the July 13, 2009.

1) Fellows favelados S. Paul. On 30

May and 27 June took place in Sao Paolo (Brazil) the usual monthly meetings of our borsisiti. Jaelson included students, Jessica, Vanuza, Francisco, Izaac, Jurandir, Nathaly, Juliana (absent Edson and Rafael), Sr. Jacqueline (responsible CenFIRC), Anna (project coordinator in Brazil) and Bernard (economist).

reproduce below an excerpt from the report of the meeting written by Anna.

"The group is growing every month more.

The boys and girls have completed the first semester and 26 giugnoè Friday was the last day of school. This last week they had some written tests and presentation a seminar. Next week there will be the second meeting with the family to deliver a further assessment of all members. The lessons will stop and then resume on July 29.

Students do not actually have many vacations because they have different activities to play at home this month in which the course is firm. We will meet together to begin to prepare the TCC (Trabalho de Curso de Conclusão), namely the thesis of the course.

Vanuza will do a search on "ethical and moral entrepreneurial" Juliana on the different types of "leader", the "leader" in the twenty-first century and women's issues, Jurandir will have to "create" of computer programs and will continue his stage holding, Jessica will be a research on political, physical, economic, tourist and Nathaly Cuba on Australia, Jaelson will do a study on "visual identity" of fashion-related stores (clothing and shoes); Francisco Izaac and still do not know how to play their work, for the moment they are building models of car with the engine complete the mechanical and electrical parts.

We made an assessment of these first few months and we have seen that all boys and girls have improved. At first they were quiet, shy, afraid of not succeeding, scared the amount of work. Now I am more calm, confident, optimistic and know how to manage their time. It 'obvious that it is so easy, but they will not give up. Told how many students have left the course in June. The fear is that professors in July (holidays), many children will not return to school and this affects the work done to date, as well as the opportunity to remove some adolescents to participate.

We have a case, which is Rafael. This last June has done so many absences, the school called the family and the mother does not know what to do. He spoke with Sister Jacqueline, but said that Rafael does not want to go, and remains at home all day doing nothing. My mother is very sad and worried because they saw that and thought Rafael undertook the course as a great opportunity. Even the mother of Juliana who lives next to him tried to talk with Rafael, but failed to change his mind.

During the meeting we have used the case of Rafael to try to raise the other kids / e. Juliana only knew of the situation and the others were shocked. They said it was hard, but they want to get to the end, is a dream and an opportunity for their lives. The students stressed the importance of monthly meetings to keep the bond with the other fellows, to know what others are doing and for mutual encouragement.

They said that the school, when he saw that many students were leaving the course, decided to organize a meeting with an outside person. They invited a person with disability and difficulty speaking because of a rare disease. This person has told his story at the auditorium of the school and all school children have participated. Everyone was excited and Jurandir said that he would not cry, but it was the first to let go. It 'was very touched by the story and the events of the person called. Unanimously, the boys were told that the life story of this man was a great opportunity and they learned to believe in their project of life, not to fight and never give up because sometimes you do not want to do something just for laziness and not for a serious reason. They have learned not to let go in front of small obstacles and problems because you have to face life.

We found the guys very mature, grown up and responsible and we believe these monthly meetings is extremely important to listen and give all support, in addition to learning a lot with them. The results so far are great and the kids are wonderful.

The next meeting will be at the end of August. "

2) Meetings between students IGEA / Luca Pacioli with Dr. Bracciano. J. Kanu

In side-bar and post in our blog of 10 May www.penochaoromano.blogspot.com I have summarized the meeting held May 5 at the Institute of Luca Pacioli Bracciano. I entered the intervention of dr. Kanu interspersed with pictures taken by Maria Stella Leardini. As soon as I think I can also insert the video that the student Giulia Canestrari is mounting for us.

3) awareness in Bracciano

On 27 June we presented our project in a gazebo in the First Day Interculture held in the Town Square Bracknell. They were two days on 26 and 27 June, the banner of integration and between cultures. The Feast Interculture "was organized by the City Look for migration policies with the support of the Directorate of Social Affairs and sponsored by the Natural Park of Bracciano-Martignano. On the first day we had a soccer tournament in the multi-ethnic high school Vian: sport as a vehicle of socialization. The day closed with the screening, in Piazza del Comune, the film "Like a man on earth" by Riccardo Biadene, Andrea Segre and Dagmawi Yimer. In the same square full of tents of various organizations (including ours) engaged in cultural exchange activities were held on the second day: exhibitions, debates, games for children. The day ended with a delicious "dinner" multiethnic enlivened by music and dances from all continents.

activity information and awareness is also continuing on our blog: www.penochaoromano.blogspot.com which shall be constantly updated. In the side-bar I put an album of photographs taken by L. Stella during the Feast interculturalism. I would be very grateful if continuaste to send me suggestions (NB: I apologize if I had to put a filter on the comments on posts to avoid comments that are published out of place as has already happened).

I hope I have not forgotten anything important, I remain available to supplement or correct the information and for any other clarification to an important and highest circulation of news and information between us.

A dear greeting from Roman Angels.

Desi Stores In Brampton For Dinnersets

INFO 09 of 18 May 2009

In the regular monthly meeting on April 25 with Anna (project coordinator in Brazil) Fellows was made a general question is: where and how they plan to use the training course they are doing and what to expect for their future.

Of the 7 fellows present, 2 not intend to change the neighborhood in which we now live (see favelas), are very attached to people who live there (relatives and friends), stressed that despite the difficulties and the risks they were born there and they want to stand for change that.

The other five said they are eager to find a good job to get out favela. Consider it very dangerous and difficult to change. But even if I left the favela have said they want to continue to help his family.

Finally, even the local leaders of the project (4 adults of which one is a psychologist) have expressed their opinion, they believe that there are prospects, so you can stay in the favela and strive to turn ..

We thank those who gave and who will give suggestions to improve this blog

Dear you up to date on the activities of the project "Pè No Chão" to the May 18, 2009.

1) Fellows favelados S. Paul.

On April 25, has unfolded the monthly meeting of our fellows (Jaelson Miranda Pereira, Jessica Maria dos Santos Batista, Jurandir Castro da Silva, Vanuza de Oliveira, Francisco de Paulo Ferreira Lima, Rafael Pereira da Silva, Isaac de Neves Moreira) with Anna (project coordinator in Brazil), Sister Jacqueline (responsible for CenFIRC) Jucimara (psychologist), Bernardo (economist). I reproduce below an excerpt from the report of the meeting written by Anna.

"As to the absent (Emanuel R. Gonçalvis Edson Ribeiro, Nathaly, Juliana Bueno de Noronha, Fabio dos Santos Matos), the same guys have decided that we must create rules because the case of one meeting per month is a major presence of all, even towards those who are helping the kids.

why the boys have decided that from next month absences must be well justified and notice. Who does not justify the lack lose 2 weeks of room and those arriving late one week for lunch. Anna will draw up the rules and will be signed at the next meeting.

On April 5 there were meetings of teachers with parents. Everybody part except the parents of Jurandir. The father had to pay a fine but has presented the following Monday and the child was able to continue with the lessons.

E 'finished the first quarter and some have been delayed in some subjects, but have already made repairs and tests have passed. What is most 'important that they have emphasized is the fact that the course will be treated as professionals and not as students.

We asked all those present how the course they are doing will contribute to their lives and their future and the communities in which they live. Most responded that they can have a job, very difficult thing to get now. With the money can maintain their family and continue to study by the university. At the age of 18 and having a job, everyone wants to live alone (outside the favela), but still helping the family. Only two guys want to stay in the favela because they say they were born there and there is where they belong. They believe that if they have a good job will help the community in which they live. The others say where they live is sad, it's dangerous and want to change their lives. They do not feel safe where they live. They want to live in a neighborhood more 'calm and quiet with better people. Stressed that they want a better quality of life.

All said they were fortunate to participate this training course and thanked the people from Italy and Brazil have allowed this. In fact, all stated that the Brazilian academic world has nothing to do with the vocational school they are attending. The teaching of "core" (primary schools) in Brazil is poor and weak, often lack teachers, almost no one learns anything, there is no seriousness. In the vocational school, in contrast, may know different places, interact with people, increases their self-esteem, there is always a teacher, teachers are better prepared. What is most 'important that they have said is that they see a big difference with their colleagues school who are not attending the professional course, and that they have dreams goals and concrete, they see a future ahead of them, but their colleagues in the public schools do not. Thanks to the course has improved their self-esteem, are more 'safe and we can see the difference in the mode of expression, speech, expression of their eyes, their security.

The next meeting will be May 30.

I quote the intervention of dr. Kanu interspersed with pictures taken by Maria Stella Leardini. As soon as I think I can also insert the video that the student Giulia Canestrari is mounting for us.

3) Awareness raising activities in Bracciano

The information activities and awareness-raising continues through our blog: www.penochaoromano.blogspot.com which shall be constantly updated.

continuing contacts with local newspapers to spread our activities.

Thanks to comments and suggestions I proceeded to make changes: I added links that allow you to explore some issues just mentioned, I have "broken" into two parts the lyrics "too long" and of little interest to the layman, I added some photos, in fact I'm trying to make it more suitable to the objectives of the project. I would be really grateful if continuaste to send me suggestions (NB: I apologize if I had to put a filter on the comments on posts to avoid comments that are published out of place as has already happened).

I hope I have not forgotten anything important, I remain available to supplement or correct the information and any clarification to an important and highest circulation of news and information between us.
