lover of art in general and comics in particular, has officially started his career as a cartoonist in 2001, when Egypt's Comic Workshop, held at the American University in Cairo. It is included in the narrative genre of social realism, he set his plays in the most traditional of Cairo and describing aspects of popular life of Cairo in Egypt to address the hot topics: politics, economy, health, education and poverty.
In 2008, with editions Dar Merif, publishes Metro, a graphic-novel which tells the story of Shihab, a young and experienced computer programmer who, unable to pay a debt with a loan shark, is being drawn by a corrupt politician in a bank robbery.
Metro has become a sensational case, when the government ordered the confiscation of the libraries and opened a trial against the author and his publisher, accused of using a language too far. In fact, the complaint alleges in general content of the work, which proposes an open social criticism, representing the recent Egyptian democracy movement and describing the serious consequences of any political activism. In fact, in the end, the process ended with an order to destroy all copies of the work and to pay a fine of 5,000 Egyptian pounds (about 700 €).
