Dear you up to date on the activities of the project "Pè No Chão" to the March 22, 2009.

1) Fellows favelados S. Paul.
On February 28, has unfolded the monthly meeting of our fellows (Edson Emanuel R. Gonçalvis Ribeiro Pereira Jaelson Miranda, Jessica Maria dos Santos Batista, Nathaly, Jurandir Castro da Silva, Fabiola dos Santos Matos, Vanuza de Oliveira, Paulo Ferreira, Francisco de Lima, Juliana de Noronha Bueno, Rafael Pereira da Silva) with Anna (project coordinator in Brazil), Sister Jacqueline (CenFIRC Manager), Sr . Annamaria (director of the school CenFIRC) and Bernardo (USPI university professor in Sao Paulo). I reproduce below an excerpt from the report of the meeting written by Anna.

"We started the meeting by asking everyone present a review of the activities of the first week of the course work, their impressions, difficulties, the positive and negative things.
were present for all young fellows, who lacked only Fabiola because of serious family problems do not attend regularly and could be expelled from school. Sr. Jacqueline is in contact with both the professional school with the family to see how to solve problems.
In general, all have expressed great interest in the courses, are working, are feeling it's something serious and it is not easy.

The most important thing of course, according Vanuzzo (Secretariat of azienza), is that they are encouraged to think. The teachers teach the theory and in fact spend a few general concepts, but then give the students a lot of activities and tasks where they must use testaper their thinking and solve several cases. For Vanuzzo this is very important. Jaelson (graphic designer) said that his class is very close, has already made many friends. His week is divided between theoretical and practical activities. He has already conducted two trials and two seminars. He also spoke of the importance of teamwork.

Jurandir (computer science) said that for him, this course is a challenge. All said it was difficult, which is not going to make it, but he has decided to tackle the challenge. He studied and passed the test and is now very proud because after only 7 days of the course he and another student of his class did an interview and were selected to start as early an internship in a company. Since the beginning of March to study at night to do an internship during the day. The company's IT practice is called for which will Mwami. He, like Vanuzzo, says it is very interesting methodology in which students are obliged to think. Everyone must think and customize their own methods.

Jessica (tourism) has only said that the course is very hard but could not give his opinion.

Francisco (mechanical engineering) said that the mechanics course is interesting and has already made theory and practical tests. In his class there are 30 students.

Isaac (electro) is very shy and serious. He said he likes the quiet and peace. He loves the discipline is very strict and hard on himself. He is now doing only theoretical lessons and is looking forward to starting practice.

Edson agreed with what they told the other boys, but was unable to give his opinion. However, he told a fact that has impressed: last week with his companions had to copy 400 times a rule because a student did the phone ring in class.

Juliana girl is a very disciplined and has been chosen as class representative. In every class there are two representatives, one male and one female. For she is a very important but difficult because it must be hard sometimes to come to an agreement classmates. You must arrange the room, the material and acts as a bridge between students and the secretariat.

At the end we showed the children photographs of schools that Braccianese Stella and Romano sent us. As expected the boys have been comments made about the girls pictures.

have requested to receive information about the subjects and times frequented by Italian teenagers. "

The next meeting will be March 28.

2) Meetings between students IGEA / Luca Pacioli with Dr. Bracciano. J. Kanu
E 'in preparation for a meeting pupils dell'IGEA / Luca Pacioli with their teachers and dr. James Kanu (economist and former UN official). The meeting should continue and deepen the themes of the research done by the students themselves, important topics, especially in this time of global economic crisis such as the criteria used to measure the well-being (eg GDP), their relevance and scientific , a new measure UN, etc. .. The meeting will take place in the second half of April.

3) Awareness raising activities in Bracciano
information and awareness continues through our blog: www.penochaoromano.blogspot.com which shall be constantly updated. Thanks to comments and suggestions I proceeded to make changes: I added links that allow you to explore some issues just mentioned, I have "broken" into two parts the lyrics "too long" and of little interest to the layman, I added some photos, in fact I'm trying to make it more suitable to the objectives of the project. I would be really grateful if continuaste to send me suggestions (NB: I apologize if I had to put a filter on the comments on posts to avoid comments that are published out of place as already happened).

I hope I have not forgotten anything important, I remain available to supplement or correct the information and any clarification to an important and highest circulation of news and information between us.

A dear greeting from Roman Angels.
